His Story

From early discipline to hard lessons about how the body really works

From the age of 14, focused preparation was Joshua's greatest asset. He excelled in individual sports, especially martial arts, and quickly developed a fierce, determined mindset shaped by the pursuit of high-level competition. But success came with a cost.

 The Breaking Point

Injury forced him to rethink everything

Years of traditional weight training, extreme stretching, and pushing through pain eventually led to spine surgery less than two years out of high school.

Given his athletic background, the science of training felt like a natural professional path. But even after years of schooling and working in fitness, he still could not solve his own weaknesses, pain, or recurring limitations.

For another 15 years, he lived with pain, frustration, depression, and chronic illness while searching for answers that traditional methods never fully provided.

 The Turning Point

Finding Functional Patterns changed both his health and his mission

In his pursuit of real solutions, Joshua found Functional Patterns. It is not an overstatement to say the system transformed his life personally and professionally.

Today, at 48, he is living without pain or limitation. He spends time backpacking, pursuing alpinism, sprinting, and continuing to improve physically with each passing year.

That experience is now the foundation of how he coaches others. Not with hype. Not with generic workouts. But with a system built to restore function, reduce wear and tear, and help people move with more freedom over time.

What He Believes

Fitness should support longevity, not just aesthetics or short-term performance

For Joshua, health is not just about how you look or how hard you can push. It is about building a body that lets you get out of bed for years to come, stay active without pain, and keep showing up for the things that matter most.

That means training in a way that improves posture, restores movement, reduces chronic stress on the body, and supports real life. In the gym. In sport. In nature. In the day-to-day moments that define how well you actually live.

That is health. That is living.
